DER 4TE MANN

DER 4TE MANN

When and why has the skillful, but relaxed and grooving improvisation, interweaving the genres of jazz, pop and rock disappeared from the consciousness of the public? Is it the fault of the formatted radio? Have we lost patience? What happened to the westcoastsound of the Doobie Brothers, George Benson, Pink Floyd or Steely Dan? These are questions that pop up when you’re hearing <der4temann> for the first time. It is music for those who have listened to a lot and can therefore cherish the subleties, the exciting rhythm changes, the multilayered sounds, the spontaneous, yet magically interlocking arrangements.

Here, it is behind every bend that a little adventure, an unexpected sleight of hand awaits you. <der4temann> plays with the history of music and does that in a most immediate, that is in an improvising way. This is no cleverly aged, figured-out and polished pop, but the result of organic, almost subconscious communication between musicians, that surprise but are not trying to trump each other. But regardless if you seem to be hearing “CTI”-arrangements, grooving funk-rock or melodic fusion between "wallofsound" guitars and balladesk piano movements- there’s always this suspense, that makes listening a truly engaging pleasure. Because you can feel that apart from the initial idea little was figured out in advance.

So get ready to be surprised
